Do not leave Murfreesboro without checking out the following places:

  1. Cannonsburgh Village: If there’s one way to view 100 years of rural life in Tennessee at a glance, Cannonsburgh Village would have to be it. One of the major features of this village is the World’s Largest Cedar Bucket. The displayed items range from the massive tractor exhibit to other old tools and inventions buildings.
  1. Batey Farms: Pick out your own fresh produce at this historical farm. This is a great place to pick strawberries, find healthy foods, and learn a little more about agriculture.
  1. Earth experience- Middle Tennessee Museum of Natural History: This museum has displays originating from locations throughout the world and is packed with various archaeological relics from all across Tennessee. You will have the unique experience of watching actual dinosaur bones being repaired and cleaned in a laboratory. Very few cities in the US can boast of having the skeleton of an actual T-Rex!
  1. Coffee Fusion: This is an Asian café well known for its delicious brunches. Locals really love the Vietnamese Coffee, and if you choose a soup, you will definitely get a rich broth with generous amounts of vegetables and meat.
  1. General Bragg Trailhead: Who doesn’t love a picnic? Go for a hike on the General Bragg Trail and bring a little picnic along too. With plenty of open space and clean restrooms, this scenic location offers a great vantage point of the Stones River Greenway system as well.
  1. Toot’s: This restaurant is undeniably fun and downright tasty. Portion sizes are never a problem here and specials are offered daily.
  1. Long Hunter State Park: Perched on the shore of J Percy Priest Lake, this massive park is located 27 miles northeast of Murfreesboro and is perfect for anyone in the market for open space and fresh air.
  1. Oaklands Mansion: The historic plantation home and museum originally belonged to the Maneys, who spent a lot on educational, religious and economic development in the city but lost their prominence after the Civil War. The museum here displays the history of the south in our area and hosts events on occasion as well.
  1. The Blueberry Patch: High quality produce is in high demand. The Blueberry Patch meets those demands for locals and passersby alike.

    11. Boro Beach: This is a great spot to catch some sun and tire out your kids. With a variety of waterslides and play areas, there’s no shortage of opportunities for a good time here.
